Press|Publications

Sebastian Wagner, founder of the internationally active SWA Group, regularly features his projects and his understanding of architecture in specialist publications and the press. His concept of "Sacred Tecture," which sees architecture as a connection between space, culture, and spirituality, was first presented in the eponymous exhibition in Berlin in 2015. Symbols such as the mandala play a central role in the design concept.

The magazine "Sein Magazin" published articles on Wagner's cultural projects, including the Lichtwerk Berlin, in 2008 and 2015. These publications illuminate his vision of architecture as a social catalyst and reflect his interdisciplinary working approaches.

A current milestone is the exhibition "WORLDS>CONNECTING," which will be shown at the Rathenow Cultural Center from September to November 2024. There, Wagner and the SWA Group will present a comprehensive master plan for the West Havelland region. The exhibition addresses architecture as an instrument of regional change and as a bridge between local identities, global thinking, and sustainable action. Architecture for society

Sebastian Wagner sees architecture as a social responsibility that goes far beyond aesthetic design. With his internationally active SWA Group, he pursues an integrative approach that promotes social cohesion, cultural identity, and sustainable development. Wagner plans and implements projects that respond to local needs and incorporate participatory processes – especially in regions affected by social or ecological inequality.

A particular focus is on international energy and infrastructure projects, including those commissioned by the World Bank, where ecological responsibility and social participation are central. Architecture becomes a tool for development and social empowerment.

Influential cultural projects such as the Solidarnosc Center in Gdansk, the Chiado cultural quarter in Lisbon, and the Lichtwerk in Berlin-Lichtenberg demonstrate Wagner's ability to create places of exchange and remembrance. These spaces combine clear, symbolic formal language with functional openness and enable civic engagement at the architectural level.
